Öland is the 2nd largest island of Sweden, and is located around 250km from Linköping. We rented two cars on the friday,, we left Ryd around half past five pm, and reached our final destination some four hours later.

We were sleeping in a small guest house in Mörbylånga, on the western coast of the island. There we had a kitchen and everything to cook our meals… except the salt. Fortunatly, Patrizia had brought some with her :)

On saturday we drove to the south of the island, where stands a charming lighthouse; moreover, the fauna of this part of Öland is very rich: a lot of migrating birds stops there on their way to the south of Europe. Then many swedish photographers like to get there too… we actually saw more cameras than birds!

On sunday we first walked along the beach near our hostel, before getting back to the cars and driving to Kalmar, opposite the island. There we had a fika, visited the city… Some of us also visited the castle.

Then we drove back to Linköping… it was time to rest a bit :)
Many thanks to all those who organized and took part to this trip :-)
